This symposium is an official affiliated event of the XVI International AIDS Conference, scheduled for August 13 – 18, 2006 in Toronto, Canada.

When is the deadline to apply to attend the Symposium?
The deadline for registration is July 15, 2006 - early registration is encouraged as space is limited.

Why do I have to apply to attend this Symposium?
Space at the Symposium is limited. The organizers wish to ensure that registrants are working in the field of children affected by HIV and AIDS. Applicants will be informed via e-mail whether their application has been accepted. When notification is received, you will be registered for the Symposium.

Who is speaking at the Symposium?
Our Keynote Speakers include Stephen Lewis (United Nations Special Envoy on AIDS in Africa), Hon. Sheila Tlou (Minister of Health, Botswana), Dr. Linda Richter (Executive Director, Child, Youth and Family Development, South Africa), and Peter McDermott (Chief of the HIV/AIDS Section, UNICEF).
Other esteemed participants include Dr. Geoff Foster (Founder, Family AIDS Caring Trust, Zimbabwe), Dr. Jerry Coovadia (Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, South Africa), Dr. Felton Earls (Harvard University, USA), Betty Makoni (Director, Girl Child Network, Zimbabwe), and Kathleen Okatcha (Kenya Orphans Rural Development Program).

Can I get help with travel and accommodation?
Limited scholarships are available for both travel and accommodation costs, subject to the requirements set out on the Scholarships page. The deadline date for receipt of all scholarship applications is March 31, 2006.

What if I need an official Letter of Invitation in order to obtain a visa?
Delegates requiring an official Letter of Invitation in order to obtain a visa to attend the Envisioning the Future Symposium may request one from the Registration Department at info@canadaforum.com. See the the Letter of Invitation page for more details.
